My introduction to Unity was easier than expected. Learning and getting used to the interface was simple enough, not very hard. Basic scripting is another story entirely. Scripting was hard for be because I made the simple mistake of butting a bracket backwards and spending a long time looking for it. The scripting itself isn't that bad but the attention to detail is something I need to acclimate too. The Roll-a-ball tutorial wasn't that hard either. I'm not entirely done but it is going smoothly and i don't foresee any issues. Compared to Game Maker, Unity is the superior engine and the one I prefer. Unity feels better than Game Maker and it also makes things a lot easier in terms of its set up and organization. I also like that I have to do all the work, and that it isn't just laid out for me. |
